Draft fire safety guidance requiring evacuation lifts large enough for a wheelchair and accompanying person in all blocks of flats above 18m has gone out to consultation

The government is proposing amendments to Approved Document B (ADB) outlining how all high-rise buildings should have evacuation cores to allow disabled people to get out of a building without relying on firefighters.
